The Success Story of Aykut Karalioğlu (Founder of Mobile Action), How has he risen from bottom to top?
Al of us hear about entrepreneurs, their story that is from bottom to top. We all think that it is possible for everybody. Then, we start looking how do they live, how do they sleep, how do they eat and all other “important” details. Let me tell you the real factor in their success: Stress. I will justify my answer by giving the story of Aykut Karaalioğlu. His story is taken from the interview that Cüneyt Özdemir(Turkish Journalist) had with Aykut Karaalioğlu.
When he graduated from Bilkent University with International Relations bachelor’s degree, he only had one purpose which is to go to San Francisco. When he arrived there, he couldn’t get any job, because his degree was not from a university in USA. He lived in his friend’s house, slept on the sofa. The money he brought to live for a while was about to finish. He felt the stress even in his veins. He thought about starting a start-up, but there wasn’t any emerging idea. After some time, his mind discovered something, a deficit — an opportunity — in the mobile app sector. When the people were moving to San Francisco to dig the soil to find gold, there was one job that benefits most, shovel sellers. He believed that the new gold mining is the mobile app sector and, he had to be the shovel seller. He thought that instead of making an app, he had to make a service for the existing apps. This service was app analytics.
One day, he got a call from Ebay to have a job interview. He went to interview and recognized that his start-up idea was pretty demanded in Ebay. When Ebay told him that they want him as a worker, he said that he has a company called Mobile Action, even though there wasn’t any company existing like that. Then, Ebay told him that they can get service from his company. He charged 90000 Dollars for 6 months and, he started. He started his company with that money and started working for Ebay. Then, Ebay suggested him to other companies and his company boomed.
Now, time to examine how his brain is shaped and worked in this process.
When he moved to San Francisco, he was stony-broke. This caused stress in his brain. When we are stressed, the electrical connection which are made in our brain slows down. The electricity cannot pass through the neurons and axons so easily. Because of this, most of the complex knowledge we know starts being forgotten. This case causes something great in our life, focus and master on the subject you think and study. In Aykut’s case, it was to find a way to become the shovel seller in mobile app sector.
Our brain is not a miracle organ and, it cannot create miracles. If Aykut would not know the stories about the shovel sellers, he would not be able to emerge that idea of being shovel seller. If he would not have the enough stress amount, his brain would not be able to focus on making money. If he would not be stony-broke he would not have that stress. In this story, and in all others, case is deterministic.
In conclusion, being broke is a cause for stress. Stress is a opportunity to focus on the subject 100%. The focus is a powerful parameter for success, and remaining parameters are controlled by your luck. Do not see the stress, depression and other factors that cause memory loss in your brain as negative factors. They are the factors which actually create opportunity in your life. Read success story of all successful entrepreneurs, the first trigger they have is the stress in their brain, which is caused by several different situations, nothing more.
I would like to end with a movie scene from “The Last Samurai”.
